German Olympic track star Alica Schmidt may be dubbed the “world’s sexiest athlete,” but she’s not doing much competing right now.
The 22-year-old was stripped of her ability to compete in Saturday’s 4×400 mixed relay due to her team’s disqualification.
The German team reportedly received the disqualification due to making contact with the Jamaican team.
Schmidt may still be able to make the relay on Friday, though it is uncertain.
The athlete has been training inside the Olympic Village, stating that “preparation, as part of Team Deutschland is going well, and the food is delicious.”
According to the New York Post, Alica Schmidt has a significant social media following, which has led to sponsorships and extra income.
The Blonde beauty first came into the limelight when she helped Germany take a silver medal in the 4×400 relay at 2017’s European Athletics Under-20 Championships. Last year, she helped the national quartet bronze at European Championships in the Under-23 category in the 4×400 relay.
