In a heartbreaking series of events, a man who claimed to be once an engineer at a top tech company is now begging on the streets of Bengaluru. His story recently caught the attention of thousands after a series of videos were posted on Instagram.
The first video shows the man in a disheveled state, wearing a red T-shirt. He claimed to have worked at Mindtree, a well-known tech consulting company in Global Village Tech Park, now called Sattva Global City, near Mysuru Road in Bengaluru. According to him, he had a steady job until his life took a drastic turn. After losing his parents and parting ways with his long-term girlfriend, he began to drink heavily, eventually ending up on the streets. He now survives by begging for a living.
In the second video, the man spoke about meditation, the works of philosopher David Hume, and Albert Einstein’s theories. He even delved into topics like the brain’s hippocampus and amygdala. The massive difference between his past and present and his intellectual capacity is heartbreaking!
In the third video, he mentioned traveling to Frankfurt in 2013 and musing over societal divisions based on religion and caste, expressing regret over his current state and a desire to read more books. Have a look at all three videos here:
One commenter mentioned spotting him in Jayanagar’s 4th Block a few days ago, reportedly in a drunken state. The man seemed unwilling to accept any help, declining offers to go to a shelter or support center, reported NewsKarnataka.
The person behind the Instagram account, Sharath, continued to update followers, revealing that he had contacted an NGO for assistance. However, a doctor said no organization would step in without police intervention.
This story is still unfolding, and many hope that the man will eventually accept help and find a way to rebuild his life.
