Sometimes, the smallest acts of kindness from strangers leave the deepest impressions. A helping hand offered without hesitation — and without expecting anything in return — often says more about humanity than grand gestures ever can. One such moment at a busy railway station in Delhi has now touched millions online.
An elderly Indian man has caught social media’s attention after jumping onto a railway track to retrieve the dupatta (a long, shawl-like scarf) of an Indonesian woman.

The now-viral Instagram video, shared by digital creator @indaha.l, shows the woman standing near the gate of a stationary train at the New Delhi Railway Station (NDLS). While adjusting her camera, her dupatta accidentally slipped through the narrow gap between the train and the platform.
As the woman stood startled, a passerby quickly noticed the situation. He first gestured to her to wait and attempted to pull the garment out with his hand. When he failed to reach it, the older man carefully jumped between the train bogies and recovered the dupatta.
Sharing the clip online, the woman compared the elderly helper to one of Bollywood’s most iconic romantic heroes. “Rahul came at the right time!!’ the woman captioned the video, referencing Shah Rukh Khan’s character, Rahul, from the 1998 movie, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.
Since surfacing online, the video has amassed millions of views and thousands of reactions. Social media users praised the older man for stepping in instantly and helping a stranger without seeking recognition in return.
